Stefan Widomski moved from Poland to Finland in 1966, integrated in a short time and rose from a TV-repairman to a translator for President Kekkonen. As Senior Vice President of Corporate Relations & Trade Policy for Nokia, he was “the travelling Ambassador Plenipotentiaire Extraordinaire” for Finland´s most international company and was on the road more than 100 days a year, from were he retired 2006.
Years 1970-72, Widomski worked for Instrumentarium (a leading medical technology company in Finland), and thereafter for Nokia, for the next 34 years. He worked first as a export negotiator, then as a manager, and from 1978 as a operative director, then taking care of high level relations. He has remained as a humanist in a technology oriented company. In 1989, President Gorbatshov made his very first mobile telephone call to Moscow, during his state visit to Finland, publicly guided by Widomski, a significant marketing event.
